In recent corporate and strategic developments, BNP Paribas entered into a definitive agreement in April 2026 to sell its entire 67 percent controlling equity stake in BMCI to Moroccan financial conglomerate Holmarcom Group through Holmarcom Finance Company, a landmark transaction intended to create a larger domestic banking group alongside Holmarcom-owned Crédit du Maroc, while establishing a long-term commercial partnership with BNP Paribas to ensure continuity for multinational corporate clients. Concurrently, BMCI has expanded its sustainable and green finance footprint through strategic financing partnerships with multilateral institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF+) and the Women in Business program to support climate resilience, energy transition, and women-led enterprise growth. The bank has also continued the modernization of its operational infrastructure through digital banking platform enhancements, paperless onboarding workflows, and fintech innovation initiatives led via its digital service unit Digiserv.
