Business
Hightech Payment Systems SA (HPS) is a multinational financial technology software and services company that specializes in electronic payment solutions for financial institutions, payment processors, retailers, and national switches worldwide. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, the company operates across three primary business segments: Solutions, Processing, and Services. HPS develops, licenses, and supports its flagship PowerCARD software suite, a comprehensive and modular omnichannel payment platform designed to manage the entire electronic payment value chain. The company's core product offerings include PowerCARD-Issuer for card issuance, credit line management, and multi-currency account administration; PowerCARD-Acquirer for merchant acquiring, point-of-sale network administration, and merchant billing; PowerCARD-Switch for high-throughput transaction switching, real-time routing, and interbank clearing; PowerCARD-ATM and PowerCARD-xPOS for automated teller machine and point-of-sale terminal management; PowerCARD-Fraud for real-time risk assessment, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention; PowerCARD-Wallet and Tokenisation for digital wallet management, mobile credentials, and contactless payments; PowerCARD-eSecure for 3-D Secure authentication and digital commerce protection; PowerCARD-ACH for automated clearing house transaction processing; PowerCARD-Connect for open API banking and fintech integration; and PowerCARD-BI for payment analytics and business intelligence reporting. Through its subsidiary CR2, the company offers the BankWorld digital banking platform, providing digital onboarding, mobile banking, internet banking, and self-service ATM channel solutions. In addition, HPS delivers outsourced electronic payment processing services via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, alongside professional services comprising payment strategy consulting, system integration, custom development, testing, training, and ongoing technical support. The company serves more than 500 client institutions, including central banks, tier-one commercial banks, card processors, independent sales organizations, telecommunications providers, and retailers across over 100 countries. HPS maintains operating subsidiaries and regional offices in Casablanca, Morocco; Paris and Aix-en-Provence, France; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Dublin, Ireland; Singapore; and Port-Louis, Mauritius; with principal operating subsidiaries including CR2, International Card Processing Services Ltd. (ICPS), ACPQualife, and IPRC. In recent developments, HPS has executed its AccelR8 strategic transformation plan, designed to accelerate the company's transition to a cloud-native, recurring Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model and expand its global market share. As a key component of this strategy, HPS completed the 100% acquisition of Dublin-based digital banking platform provider CR2, combining CR2's BankWorld digital banking suite with PowerCARD to provide integrated digital payment and banking capabilities across English-speaking Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Furthermore, the company has expanded the global commercial rollout of PowerCARD Version 4, a microservices-based, cloud-agnostic architecture aimed at Tier 1 financial institutions, while scaling its managed processing capacity through the ongoing operational integration of ICPS.
