- Invesco MSCI Global Timber ETF (CUT) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the MSCI ACWI IMI Timber Select Capped Index by investing at least 90% of its total assets in stocks, American depositary receipts, global depositary receipts and depositary receipts comprising the underlying index. The fund provides exposure to companies engaged in the ownership and management of forests and timberlands, as well as the production, transformation and distribution of products using timber as a raw material, including manufacturers of lumber, paper products, packaging and pulp; top holdings as of June 30, 2025, include Amcor plc (5.12%), Weyerhaeuser Co. (5.08%), Packaging Corp of America (5.04%), UPM-Kymmene Oyj (4.96%) and Avery Dennison Corp. (4.95%), with a total of 57 holdings rebalanced quarterly. Sector allocations emphasize materials at 91.02% and real estate at 8.98%, while geographic exposure spans the United States (48.17%), Finland (11.52%), Sweden (8.18%), Brazil (6.16%) and Canada (5.33%), among other regions.
Launched on November 9, 2007, and listed on NYSE Arca, CUT is managed by Invesco Distributors, Inc., with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of Invesco Ltd.'s broader exchange-traded fund offerings. The fund maintains a total expense ratio of 1.02%, including a 0.50% management fee, and a 30-day SEC yield of 2.28% as of June 30, 2025. It targets investors seeking thematic exposure to the global timber industry across developed and emerging markets, with a weighted average P/E ratio of 18.71 and P/B ratio of 2.14.
In May 2016, the fund transitioned its benchmark from the Beacon Global Timber Index to the current MSCI ACWI IMI Timber Select Capped Index, enhancing its focus on a broader market-cap spectrum of timber-related equities while applying a capping mechanism to improve diversification. Following a reorganization on April 6, 2018, performance reflects that of the predecessor Guggenheim fund, though Invesco operates independently. No major acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships or new product launches specific to CUT have been reported in the last 1-2 years, with recent activity centered on quarterly rebalancing and standard holdings updates amid market volatility in timber and materials sectors.
