Business
Deere & Company, doing business principally under the John Deere brand, manufactures and distributes agricultural, turf, construction, forestry and industrial-power equipment and provides related precision-technology, aftermarket and financial-services solutions worldwide. Founded in 1837 and headquartered in Moline, Illinois, the United States, the company operates through Production & Precision Agriculture; Small Agriculture & Turf; Construction & Forestry; and Financial Services segments. Production & Precision Agriculture supplies large tractors; combines; cotton and sugarcane harvesters; planting, seeding and tillage equipment; self-propelled and pull-type sprayers; hay and forage machinery; crop-care systems; and precision-agriculture technologies, including AutoTrac guidance, JDLink connectivity, Operations Center software, machine automation, autonomy-ready systems and See & Spray targeted-application capabilities, primarily for production-scale growers of grain, cotton, sugarcane and other crops. Small Agriculture & Turf offers compact, utility and mid-size tractors; loaders; mowers; riding lawn equipment; Gator utility vehicles; hay and forage equipment; implements; commercial and residential turf-care products; and landscaping and grounds-care solutions for small farms, livestock producers, contractors, municipalities, golf courses and property owners. Construction & Forestry provides excavators; backhoe loaders; wheel loaders; skid steers and compact track loaders; dozers; motor graders; articulated dump trucks; roadbuilding equipment; milling machines; pavers; compactors; crushers and screening equipment through the Wirtgen Group; and forestry harvesters, forwarders and related equipment, serving construction, infrastructure, quarrying, aggregate and timber customers. John Deere Power Systems supplies diesel, hybrid and battery-electric powertrain solutions, including industrial engines, drivetrain components and generator-drive engines, while the company also sells replacement parts, attachments, maintenance, digital-support and equipment-management services through independent dealer networks. John Deere Financial finances retail purchases and leases of new and used equipment; provides wholesale financing to dealers; supports revolving-charge accounts; and offers extended warranties and related financing services. The company sells products principally in the United States and Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Recent initiatives include the 2026 introduction of six redesigned 8R and 8RX tractor models, expanding the lineup to up to 540 horsepower and incorporating autonomy-ready capability, G5Plus displays, precision-agriculture functions and optional JDLink Boost connectivity; the launch of Hands-Free Baling for selected 1 Series Round Balers, integrating AutoTrac guidance, turning, gate, speed and weave automation; the planned introduction of JD5 and JD8 next-generation industrial engines, expanding its diesel, hybrid and battery-electric power portfolio; and a joint John Deere and Wirtgen Group construction-equipment program for CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 encompassing 24 market launches, including 18 John Deere world premieres.
