Business
Mercedes-Benz Group AG manufactures and sells high-end passenger cars and premium vans through its Mercedes-Benz AG division; offers comprehensive financial and mobility services via Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, including financing, leasing, vehicle subscription, rental, fleet management, insurance brokerage, digital charging and payment solutions, and innovative mobility services; and provides a global range of vans under Mercedes-Benz Vans, encompassing large vans such as the Sprinter, mid-size vans like the Vito, and small vans including the Citan. Core product lines feature luxury automobiles across brands and models such as Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, G-Class, S-Class, EQS Sedan, GLS, and EQS SUV, with an emphasis on electric vehicle architecture and advanced powertrains. The company operates in over 180 countries, manufacturing in 17 countries, and targets premium consumer and commercial markets worldwide. Founded in 1926 through the merger of Benz & Cie. and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, Mercedes-Benz Group AG rebranded from Daimler AG in February 2022 to focus exclusively on its automotive and mobility segments following the separation of Daimler Truck. In 2024-2025, the company pursues an intense product launch campaign, introducing dozens of new or refreshed models through 2027, highlighted by the all-new electric GLC with AI-driven MB.OS and elevated design; pledges an additional 14 billion yuan with Chinese partners for product expansion; and realigns retail structures by divesting company-owned branches in Germany, such as Neu-Ulm to STERNE GRUPPE GmbH, Dortmund to Jürgens Group, Mainz to Merbag Group, and Lübeck to a consortium of Süverkrüp Automobile and Brinkmann GmbH. Recent executive changes include Jörg Burzer assuming the Chief Technology Officer role and Development & Procurement responsibilities, and Michael Schiebe taking over Production, Quality & Supply Chain Management, effective December 1, 2025. The group maintains strategic technology partnerships, including ongoing collaboration with Aston Martin for hybrid and electric powertrains, and advances its largest product offensive with over 40 vehicles planned across its network.
