- GMO Domestic Resilience ETF (DRES) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks total return by investing primarily in equities of U.S. companies positioned to benefit from the reshoring of industrial production, onshoring of vital technologies and industries, and the strengthening of America's economic and strategic role amid shifts away from globalization; the portfolio emphasizes concentrated exposure to sectors including manufacturing and automation, transportation and logistics, energy and materials, and defense. Launched in September 2025 and sponsored by GMO, a Boston-headquartered global investment manager founded in 1977 with approximately $70 billion in assets under management as of August 2025, DRES applies GMO's valuation-oriented principles—considering company quality, profitability, profit stability, leverage, future growth opportunities, capital allocation, and discounted cash flow analyses—to select securities across market capitalizations with high U.S. revenue exposure, at least 80% of assets under normal circumstances invested directly or indirectly in U.S.-tied equities. The fund, with a net expense ratio of 0.50% and top holdings such as Union Pacific Corp. (5.6%), CSX Corp. (4.3%), Northrop Grumman Corp. (4.1%), and Nucor Corp. (3.5%) representing about 40.5% of assets, trades on the NYSE and targets sophisticated institutional and individual investors seeking U.S.-centric, risk-adjusted returns outperforming traditional benchmarks.
The September 30, 2025, launch of DRES represents GMO's latest major strategic expansion of its ETF lineup, which provides access to long-running strategies and thematic solutions aligned with secular economic trends; this addition complements existing ETFs including QLTY (U.S. Quality), QLTI (International Quality), GMOV (U.S. Value), GMOI (International Value), BCHI (Beyond China), and INVG (Systematic Investment Grade Credit). No further significant changes, such as acquisitions, partnerships, funding rounds, or product alterations, have been reported for DRES or its sponsor GMO in the subsequent period through late 2025. GMO operates globally from its Boston headquarters, with offices in London, Sydney, Amsterdam, Singapore, and Tokyo.
