Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) is a state-owned telecommunications infrastructure and international bandwidth provider based in Bangladesh. The company owns, manages, and operates the country's core submarine telecommunications cable landing stations and international connectivity infrastructure, serving as the principal bandwidth gateway connecting Bangladesh to global networks. Its primary product and service portfolio comprises international submarine cable bandwidth capacity; International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC) solutions delivering dedicated, secure point-to-point cross-border data transmission; high-capacity IP transit services; carrier-neutral co-location and data center hosting services, including rack space, uninterruptible power, climate control, and physical security at its landing facilities; and International Internet Gateway (IIG) and Internet Service Provider (ISP) network connectivity solutions for telecommunications operators, internet service providers, financial institutions, and large corporate enterprises. BSCPLC operates key infrastructure assets across Bangladesh, including submarine cable landing stations in Cox's Bazar, connecting the South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4) system, and Kuakata in the Patuakhali district, connecting the SEA-ME-WE 5 system, supported by centralized network operations and data center facilities in Dhaka. In recent developments, the company changed its corporate name from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) to Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC following statutory corporate governance reorganizations. Operationally, BSCPLC is actively implementing Bangladesh's third submarine cable connection under the SEA-ME-WE 6 international consortium project, adding approximately 13,200 Gbps (13.2 Tbps) of transmission capacity to support escalating domestic internet traffic, cloud computing, and digital service demands. Additionally, the company has completed major capacity upgrades and transmission modernization on its SEA-ME-WE 4 network to extend its operational lifecycle through 2030, while expanding regional bandwidth transit arrangements and upgrading its carrier-grade colocation infrastructure in Dhaka and regional hubs. Founded in 2008 following the restructuring of the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board and operating under the Posts and Telecommunications Division of the Government of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and is publicly listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
