- GPH Ispat Limited is a Bangladesh-based integrated steel manufacturing company primarily engaged in the production, marketing, and distribution of high-grade steel billets, reinforced thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) steel rebars, structural sections, and industrial gases. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Chattogram, Bangladesh, the company operates as a key manufacturing arm of the GPH Group and is publicly traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange under the ticker GPHISPAT.
The company operates through two core business segments: Steel Manufacturing and Industrial Gases. Its product portfolio comprises Mild Steel (MS) billets in low-, medium-, and high-carbon grades produced via electric arc furnace metallurgy; high-strength deformed rebar products marketed under the GPH Quantum B600C-R, GPH Quantum B600D-WR, and GPH Ultra TMT 500W brand lines; structural steel shapes, including angles, channels, square bars, and flat bars; and commercial-grade cryogenic gases, including liquid oxygen, gaseous oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon produced through an integrated air separation unit.
GPH Ispat caters to commercial developers, industrial corporations, public sector agencies, and private residential builders across Bangladesh and regional export destinations. Its steel products are utilized extensively in national mega-infrastructure initiatives, including highway expressways, bridges, power generation plants, metro rail networks, and seismic-resistant high-rise buildings. In addition to maintaining an extensive domestic dealer and distribution network, the company exports steel billets and finished long products to international markets, including neighboring regional territories in India and Southeast Asia.
In recent major developments, GPH Ispat completed the full commercial ramp-up of its expanded manufacturing complex in Sitakunda, Chattogram, incorporating Primetals Technologies Quantum Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and WinLink continuous casting and rolling technology. This transformation elevated the company's annual production capacity to over 1.05 million metric tons of steel billets and 840,000 metric tons of finished rolled products, establishing one of the most energy-efficient, low-emission steel plants in South Asia. The company also expanded its commercial product offerings by introducing Grade 600 seismic-ductile rebar engineered for high-load structural applications, while expanding commercial supply agreements for medical and industrial gases from its air separation facility. Furthermore, GPH Ispat has restructured its capital framework through syndicated credit facilities, rights issuance programs, and strategic working capital optimization to support sustained operational scale and regional trade expansion.
