MIDAS Financing PLC is a Bangladesh-based non-bank financial institution engaged in providing diversified credit, leasing, and deposit mobilization solutions to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, corporate entities, and individual clients. Established on May 16, 1995, and licensed by Bangladesh Bank in October 1999, the company is headquartered at MIDAS Centre in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and operates branch offices across major economic regions of the country. The company operates through core business segments comprising Small and Medium Enterprise Financing, Corporate Finance and Leasing, and Retail and Deposit Services. Through its 99.99 percent-owned subsidiary, MIDAS Investment Limited, the institution also conducts merchant banking operations, including issue management, underwriting, and portfolio management services. The company offers a comprehensive range of lending and deposit products structured into distinct categories. Its financing and credit portfolio comprises lease financing for industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and commercial vehicles; Small Enterprise Development term loans for business expansion and capital investment; Micro Enterprise Development Initiative facilities catering to micro-enterprises and working capital needs; dedicated financing programs for women entrepreneurs featuring concessional terms and collateral-free options; work order and project financing; commercial and residential housing loans; auto loans; consumer credit schemes; and loans against lien of securities alongside call money market transactions. Its retail and institutional liability portfolio includes fixed-term deposit schemes; monthly savings schemes; monthly and quarterly income deposit schemes; double and triple money growth schemes; and millionaire deposit schemes. In recent corporate and strategic developments, the institution officially amended its corporate name from MIDAS Financing Limited to MIDAS Financing PLC in March 2024 in accordance with statutory company regulations in Bangladesh. To address asset quality pressures and liquidity challenges associated with non-performing loans, the company engaged in central bank-guided restructuring frameworks overseen by Bangladesh Bank. In mid-2026, the board of directors approved strategic asset monetization measures, resolving to dispose of non-core commercial properties in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Bogura to enhance liquidity reserves and satisfy depositor obligations, subject to regulatory and shareholder authorizations. Additionally, the company initiated management and governance reorganizations, including the appointment of an acting managing director in August 2026 and reconstitution of board committees to steer non-performing loan recovery, capital preservation, and operational turnaround initiatives.
