- Padma Oil PLC is a Bangladesh-based downstream petroleum marketing and distribution company primarily engaged in the procurement, storage, blending, marketing, and distribution of refined petroleum products, aviation fuels, lubricating oils, greases, bitumen, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and agrochemical products. Founded in 1965 as Burmah Eastern Limited and operating as a major subsidiary of the state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), the company is headquartered in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The company's operations are structured into core business segments encompassing Petroleum Products, Lubricants and Greases, and Agro-Chemicals. Its core product and service portfolio includes refined fuel distribution comprising High Speed Diesel (HSD), Motor Spirit (MS/Petrol), High Octane Blending Component (HOBC/Octane), Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO), Light Diesel Oil (LDO), and Furnace Oil (FO) for the transport, industrial, agricultural, and power generation sectors; aviation refueling services supplying Jet A-1 fuel through dedicated into-plane fueling facilities and hydrants at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, Osmani International Airport in Sylhet, and domestic airports nationwide; marine bunkering fuels for coastal and ocean-going vessels; and paving-grade bitumen for road and highway construction projects. Its lubricants and greases portfolio provides automotive engine oils, industrial lubricants, gear lubricants, hydraulic oils, turbine oils, transformer oils, transmission fluids, and specialty greases, distributed under domestic blending operations as well as through international brand distribution partnerships, notably with TotalEnergies. Its agrochemical division formulates, packages, and markets crop protection solutions, including granular and liquid insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, weedicides, and micro-nutrients for the agricultural sector. Padma Oil PLC distributes its products throughout Bangladesh via an extensive national logistics infrastructure comprising coastal storage installations, riverine and railway depots, specialized aviation fueling depots, and a comprehensive network of authorized dealer-operated filling stations, consumer agency points, and packed-point dealers. In recent corporate and strategic developments, the company transitioned its corporate name from Padma Oil Company Limited to Padma Oil PLC in compliance with amended statutory company regulations. The company has expanded its clean energy retail presence through long-term strategic alliances with private LPG operators, including BM Energy (BD) Limited, Beximco LPG, Omera Petroleum Limited, and Petromax LPG, allowing these partners to install autogas refueling units and retail LPG cylinders across Padma Oil's retail filling station network. Furthermore, the company has undertaken major infrastructure modernizations, including the integration of modernized aviation hydrant fueling networks for the Terminal 3 expansion at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, capacity enhancements and tankage rehabilitations at its main terminal at Guptakhal in Chattogram, and operational alignment with national pipeline connectivity projects under the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation to streamline domestic fuel transport and distribution efficiency.
