In recent developments, the institution officially transitioned its corporate identity to Rupali Bank PLC to reflect its modernized public company status. The bank has accelerated its digital transformation roadmap by forging a strategic partnership with Visa to enhance its electronic card portfolio and deploying significant upgrades to its proprietary mobile financial service application, RupaliCash, adding national interoperable Bangla QR merchant payment integration and automated real-time fund transfer features. In addition, the bank has expanded its dedicated Shariah-compliant Islamic banking windows across its branch network and deepened international remittance distribution agreements with overseas exchange houses to improve cross-border remittance inflows. Rupali Bank PLC was established in 1972 following the merger of Muslim Commercial Bank, Australasia Bank, and Standard Bank, and was incorporated as a public limited company in 1986. Headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the bank conducts its operations through an extensive nationwide network of branches, sub-branches, and electronic delivery channels across the country.
