Business
Cleopatra Hospital Company S.A.E. is an Egypt-based private healthcare provider that owns, manages, and operates an integrated network of multidisciplinary general hospitals, specialized healthcare centers, and outpatient polyclinics. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, the company delivers comprehensive healthcare services primarily across the Greater Cairo metropolitan area, serving private patients, corporate clients, and health insurance beneficiaries. The company provides a wide range of medical and surgical healthcare solutions organized into distinct clinical categories: inpatient and surgical care; outpatient consultations and ambulatory services; emergency and intensive care; diagnostic imaging and radiology; clinical laboratory and pathology services; specialized treatment centers; and home healthcare and digital medical services. Its inpatient and surgical care services encompass general and laparoscopic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spinal surgery, surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, vascular surgery, urological surgery, and solid organ transplantation. Outpatient clinical consultations cover numerous specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology, dermatology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, and otorhinolaryngology (ENT). Diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), digital radiography, 3D/4D ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic endoscopy. Laboratory operations provide automated clinical biochemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, histopathology, cytopathology, and molecular diagnostics. Emergency and critical care offerings operate on a 24/7 basis, comprising level-1 emergency departments, adult intensive care units (ICU), coronary care units (CCU), pediatric intensive care units (PICU), neonatal intensive care units (NICU), and specialized stroke units. In addition, the company operates centers of excellence for cardiac catheterization, oncology treatment and chemotherapy infusion, renal dialysis, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and reproductive medicine. The group operates a portfolio of major acute-care hospital facilities in Greater Cairo, including Cleopatra Hospital, Cairo Specialized Hospital, Nile Badrawi Hospital, Al Shorouk Hospital, Queens Hospital, and El Katib Hospital, alongside a growing network of neighborhood polyclinics in East and West Cairo, such as New Cairo and Sheikh Zayed City, utilizing a hub-and-spoke clinical referral model. In recent strategic developments, Cleopatra Hospital Company expanded its footprint in specialized medicine through the acquisition and operational integration of a majority stake in Bedaya Hospital, a leading provider of fertility treatments, reproductive health, and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in Egypt. The company has entered into strategic management agreements for new healthcare facilities, including the Sky Hospital project in East Cairo, while modernizing clinical capabilities through investments in robotic-assisted surgery systems and advanced diagnostic technologies. Furthermore, the company accelerated its digital health transformation by deploying centralized electronic medical record (EMR) systems, automated laboratory tracks, teleconsultation services, and home sample collection. The company also underwent major institutional shareholding consolidation following ownership transactions by MCI Capital Healthcare Partners to strengthen its capital base and drive long-term healthcare infrastructure expansion in Egypt.
