Founded in 1940 and headquartered in Giza, Egypt, the company maintains operations primarily across Egypt and Iraq, serving individual retail consumers, commercial transport operators, corporate fleets, public sector entities, and industrial clients throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.
The company operates through two primary divisions: Automotive and GB Capital (Non-Bank Financial Services). Its automotive segment encompasses passenger cars; commercial vehicles, including light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, minibuses, and coaches; heavy construction and earthmoving equipment; two- and three-wheelers, including motorcycles and auto-rickshaws; agricultural transport machinery; and tires, lubricants, and spare parts. GB Corp distributes and manufactures vehicles under brand partnerships and assembly agreements, including Hyundai, Chery, Haval, Changan, and Mazda for passenger automobiles; Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Fuso, Foton, Marcopolo, and Shacman for commercial vehicles; Volvo Construction Equipment and SDLG for heavy machinery; Bajaj for two- and three-wheelers; and Lassa, Yokohama, Goodyear, Westlake, Triangle, and Double Coin for tires. The automotive division also provides downstream aftermarket services comprising warranty fulfillment, mechanical and body repair, fleet maintenance, automotive logistics, and pre-owned vehicle trade-in and retail operations under the Fabrika brand.
Through GB Capital, the company delivers non-bank financial services comprising asset-backed and equipment financial leasing through GB Lease; consumer automotive loans, direct retail financing, and factoring services through Drive Finance; microfinance lending and micro-leasing for micro-entrepreneurs and light-transport vehicles through Mashroey; digital consumer finance and buy-now-pay-later services through Souhoola; real estate mortgage finance through Bedaya; and life and medical takaful insurance through Kaf.
In recent developments, the company completed a corporate restructuring and officially rebranded from GB Auto S.A.E. to GB Corp, establishing a unified corporate identity across its mobility, financial services, logistics, and venture investment subsidiaries. GB Corp expanded its localized manufacturing and assembly lines in Egypt for new sport utility vehicle and passenger car models under the Changan and Haval franchises, while expanding compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion capabilities and advancing electric vehicle (EV) distribution initiatives. In its financial services division, the group executed strategic portfolio optimizations, including monetizing a portion of its equity stake in the fintech unicorn MNT-Halan to crystallize investment returns, accelerating the digital rollout of its retail financing platforms, and completing multiple asset-backed securitization bond issuances across its leasing and consumer finance subsidiaries to optimize capital structure and support credit portfolio expansion.
