Business
O B Financial Holding S.A.E. is an Egypt-based investment holding company that specializes in the non-banking financial services and financial technology sectors. Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, and founded in 2020 following a horizontal demerger from Orascom Investment Holding, the company operates as a key investment vehicle focused on developing, financing, and scaling financial institutions, digital payment ecosystems, and consumer finance platforms across the Egyptian market. The company provides a comprehensive portfolio of financial and digital solutions for retail consumers, underbanked individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, and corporate entities, including: digital payment processing and mobile wallet applications; prepaid payment card issuance in collaboration with international payment networks; buy now, pay later consumer credit schemes featuring customizable installment schedules; digital personal finance management, expense monitoring, and budgeting tools; consumer lending, automotive finance, and working capital credit; commercial factoring and invoice discounting services; machinery, equipment, and commercial real estate leasing; mortgage finance products; and corporate debt structuring alongside insurance brokerage services delivered through strategic holdings such as Klivvr and Contact Financial Holding S.A.E. In recent corporate developments, the company underwent a major change in ownership structure in April 2024 when private equity firm B Investments acquired an approximate 90% majority stake through the Egyptian market's first mandatory tender offer executed entirely via a share swap. Following this acquisition, the firm officially changed its name from Orascom Financial Holding S.A.E. to O B Financial Holding S.A.E. in January 2025 to reflect its integration under the B Investments group. In late 2024, the company also approved a strategic corporate reorganization of its technology assets, facilitating the transfer of a 98.99% stake in Klivvr for Electronics Development and E-Payments to Klivvr Holding to streamline its fintech operations, expand digital card issuance, and accelerate its roadmap toward integrated digital banking and SME financing services.
