- Paints & Chemical Industries Co. (S.A.E.), commonly known as Pachin, is an Egypt-based manufacturing company primarily engaged in the production, distribution, and marketing of paints, protective coatings, printing inks, and chemical resins. Founded in 1958 and headquartered in El Obour City, Egypt, the company operates as a subsidiary of UAE-based National Paints Holding and serves architectural, industrial, commercial, and consumer packaging markets across Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa.
The company organizes its core business into four primary operational segments: Decorative Paints, Industrial Coatings, Printing Inks, and Chemical Resins. In the Decorative Paints segment, Pachin manufactures interior and exterior architectural coatings, latex emulsion paints, acrylic sealers, primers, and wall putties; key proprietary brands include Super Dyrocoat, Fine Coat, Tiba, Aqua Sealer 10000, and One, in addition to licensed manufacturing lines such as Dulux under a strategic agreement with AkzoNobel. In the Industrial Coatings segment, the company produces heavy-duty anti-corrosive coatings, marine and maritime finishes, industrial wood varnishes and lacquers, general-purpose enamels, and automotive refinishes. In the Printing Inks segment, Pachin provides sheet-fed offset inks, liquid gravure inks, flexographic inks, and silk-screen inks designed for commercial publication and packaging industries. In the Chemical Resins and Specialty Materials segment, the company manufactures synthetic alkyd resins used as raw intermediate materials for paints and inks, as well as polyvinyl acetate adhesives marketed under the Glue Horse brand. Pachin conducts significant manufacturing operations through its core subsidiary, El Obour for Paints and Chemical Industries Company (S.A.E.).
In recent major developments, Paints & Chemical Industries underwent a major ownership and structural transformation in May 2023 when UAE-based National Paints Holding acquired an 81% majority controlling stake in the company for approximately EGP 770.4 million as part of the Egyptian government's state asset privatization program. Following the transaction, Pachin integrated operations with National Paints Holding to optimize manufacturing capacity, expand regional export channels, and execute corporate capital restructuring initiatives on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), while advancing product development into sustainable, eco-friendly, and high-performance industrial coating solutions.
