TAQA Arabia S.A.E. is an Egypt-based integrated energy and utilities distribution company that provides natural gas, electricity, refined petroleum products, and water treatment solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Egypt and select international markets. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Giza, Egypt, the company operates as a major utility subsidiary of Qalaa Holdings and is publicly listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker symbol TAQA. The company operates through five principal business segments: Gas, Power, Petroleum, Water, and E-Mobility. The Gas division provides natural gas transmission and local distribution services across multiple concessions in Egypt; delivers full-scope engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for gas networks; operates a nationwide network of compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations and vehicle conversion centers under the Master Gas brand; and provides mobile CNG virtual pipeline transport solutions to supply off-grid industrial and hospitality clients. The Power division provides conventional and renewable power generation, transmission, and distribution services; constructs and operates utility-scale solar photovoltaic plants, including a 65 MW facility in the Benban Solar Park; and manages localized medium- and low-voltage distribution grids alongside industrial energy-efficiency services. The Petroleum division manages an extensive retail network of fuel service stations supplying gasoline and diesel; distributes industrial and automotive lubricants under brand partnerships, including Castrol; and operates petroleum storage, blending, and terminal logistics assets. The Water division designs, finances, builds, and operates seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants, industrial process water treatment facilities, and municipal wastewater treatment and recycling infrastructure. The E-Mobility division deploys and operates electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and digital charging management platforms under the TAQA Volt brand. In recent strategic developments, TAQA Arabia completed its public listing on the Egyptian Exchange in July 2023. The company has since accelerated its clean energy investments and geographic expansion across East Africa. In the green energy domain, TAQA Arabia entered into a strategic consortium with Voltalia to develop a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production cluster in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, comprising up to 1 GW of electrolyzer capacity powered by more than 2.6 GW of solar and wind energy, as well as an agreement to repower the Zafarana wind farm with combined wind and solar generation capacity. Internationally, the company expanded into Tanzania through its TAQA Dalbit joint venture, commissioning Dar es Salaam's first integrated CNG filling station and conversion center under the Master Gas brand, while its subsidiary Rosetta Energy Solutions partnered with Africa50 and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) to develop an off-grid small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution network. TAQA Arabia also operates natural gas facilities in Mozambique and continues to expand its domestic charging footprint through commercial infrastructure partnerships with major real estate developers, including Wadi Degla Developments.
