Eni S.p.A. Eni S.p.A. is an integrated energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production, and marketing of oil, natural gas, liquefied natural gas, refined products, electricity, chemicals, and renewable energy solutions; it operates through segments including Exploration & Production, Global Gas & LNG Portfolio and Power, Refining and Chemicals, Enilive for biofuels, biomethane, and mobility services, Plenitude for retail energy sales, renewables, and electric vehicle charging, and Versalis for specialty chemicals, plastics, and circular economy initiatives. The company conducts activities in 64 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Australia, with approximately 32,500 employees, and maintains subsidiaries such as Saipem for engineering and construction, Vår Energy in Norway, Azule Energy joint venture in Angola, and Eni Rewind for environmental services. Founded in 1953 and headquartered in San Donato Milanese near Milan, Italy, Eni S.p.A. pursues carbon neutrality by 2050 through investments in bio-refining, carbon capture, fusion energy research, solar and wind power, and sustainable mobility including car-sharing and hydrogen. Recent developments include a September 2025 power purchase agreement exceeding $1 billion with Commonwealth Fusion Systems for fusion power, marking deepened collaboration since 2018 investments; a July 2025 20-year LNG sales agreement with Venture Global for 2 million tonnes per annum from the U.S.; increased stake in November 2025 from 12.5% to 15% in Nigeria's OML 118 deepwater block via acquisition from TotalEnergies; and acquisition of a 50% operatorship interest in Uruguay's OFF-5 offshore exploration block from YPF in November 2025, alongside portfolio optimization efforts like treasury share purchases.
