Business
Siemens Energy AG develops and manufactures products, solutions, and services for the generation, transmission, and storage of power, as well as for the decarbonization of energy systems worldwide. The company offers gas turbines, steam turbines, wind turbines through its Siemens Gamesa subsidiary, generators, compressors, electrolyzers, transformers, high-voltage direct-current transmission systems, switchgear, and power plant technology; it provides related services including maintenance, energy automation, smart grid solutions, and support for low- or net-zero power generation, heat production, grid resilience, and industrial efficiency. Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from Siemens AG and headquartered in Munich, Germany, Siemens Energy operates in over 80 countries, serving utilities, industrial customers, and governments with a workforce of approximately 102,000 employees. Recent developments include a €2 billion investment through 2028 in expanding global transformer and switchgear factories to meet rising grid demands from electrification and data centers, alongside a €220 million expansion of its Nuremberg transformer facility creating 350 jobs by 2028. The company reported fiscal 2025 revenue of €39.1 billion, profit before special items of €2.355 billion, and proposes its first dividend in four years at €0.70 per share; it upgraded 2028 targets to low-teens annual revenue growth and 14-16% profit margins. Portfolio adjustments encompass selling Innomotics to KPS Capital Partners for €3.5 billion in late 2024, divesting Siemens Gamesa's power electronics to ABB and 90% of its India/Sri Lanka wind operations to TPG-led consortium in 2026, and acquiring a stake in RWG joint venture in 2025; Siemens retains a 17% ownership interest.
