- Morgan Stanley ETF Trust – Eaton Vance Mortgage Opportunities ETF is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks a high level of current income through investments in mortgage-related and other securitized fixed-income securities. Managed by Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. under the Eaton Vance brand, the Fund invests principally in agency and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities; mortgage pass-through securities; collateralized mortgage obligations; stripped mortgage-backed securities; commercial mortgage-backed securities; inverse floating-rate obligations; to-be-announced mortgage securities; asset-backed securities; and other mortgage- and consumer-credit-related instruments. The Fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in mortgage-related securities and may also invest in high-yield debt securities, including below-investment-grade securities, as well as foreign securities. It employs top-down macroeconomic analysis and bottom-up security selection across maturities, structures and credit qualities to construct a diversified securitized-credit portfolio for income-oriented investors. Its investment strategy traces its origins to the Morgan Stanley Mortgage Securities Trust, which commenced operations in 1997. In its principal recent strategic change, Morgan Stanley Investment Management converted Morgan Stanley Mortgage Securities Trust (MTGDX) into the Eaton Vance Mortgage Opportunities ETF, with the reorganization completed on August 1, 2025 and the ETF listed on August 4, 2025. The conversion expanded Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s ETF platform and positioned the former mutual fund as an actively managed Eaton Vance-branded securitized fixed-income ETF.
