- Faes Farma, S.A. (FAE.MC) researches, develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceutical products, healthcare specialties, animal nutrition and health solutions, and pharmaceutical raw materials worldwide. The company operates through Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Specialties; Animal Nutrition and Health; and Pharmaceutical Raw Materials segments, offering prescription and generic drugs including the proprietary molecules bilastine for allergies, calcifediol for vitamin D treatments, and mesalazine for gastroenterology; over-the-counter medicines, food supplements and personal care treatments targeting allergies, venous insufficiency, irritable bowel syndrome, bone health, pain relief and immunology; animal nutrition products such as specialized feeds for swine and other species through the FARM Faes division and subsidiaries including Ingaso Farm, Tecnovit and Capselos; and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Faes Farma conducts significant R&D investment, exports to more than 130 countries and maintains direct operations in Europe including Spain, Portugal and Italy, Latin America encompassing Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Guatemala, as well as Africa and the Middle East; it employs around 1,775 people with headquarters, production facilities and R&D center in Leioa, Spain, additional offices in Madrid and Barcelona, and a new 60,000 square meter plant in Derio completed in 2024 to triple production capacity to 100 million units annually by 2027. Founded in 1933, the company listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange in the 1940s and pursues international expansion through strategic acquisitions including Laboratorios Edol, a Portuguese ophthalmology firm, for 75 million euros in March 2025 to double sales in Portugal; SIFI, an Italian ophthalmic specialist, for 270 million euros in September 2025, its largest deal and elevating ophthalmology to nearly 20 percent of revenues; and earlier purchases of Initial Technical Foods in 2017 alongside diversification into animal nutrition via Ingaso in 2007; it also advances new offerings such as high-dose metocarbamol tablets for pain relief, mesalazina granules clinical trials, iFEROL vitamin D analogues in 2025, alongside investments in a 150 million euro Huesca facility for animal feed aiming to double that segment's revenues by 2027-2028.
