Business
Foraco International SA (TSX: FAR) provides drilling services to the mining, water, energy and geotechnical sectors worldwide. The company offers mineral drilling services including exploration, development, definition, production and grade control drilling utilizing techniques such as deep directional coring, large diameter coring and bulk sampling, heli-portable drilling, underground coring, reverse circulation, air core, rotary drilling, longhole stoping and in situ leaching; water drilling services encompassing production wells for drinking, irrigation and industrial water with proprietary hydraulic fracturing and flooded reverse circulation methods, well inspection, servicing, rehabilitation and turn-key contracts including pumps and instrumentation; and related grouting services, all supported by the third largest global fleet of drilling rigs and operations in harsh environments across 17 countries on five continents including North America, South America, Asia Pacific and EMEA. Founded in 1961 and headquartered in Marseille, France, Foraco targets mining companies throughout the exploration-to-production cycle with emphasis on battery metals and gold, as well as water projects in developing regions. Recent developments include awards of multiple three-year drilling contracts totaling approximately US$150 million with Tier 1 customers in Canada and Chile, continued ramp-up of long-term contracts in Brazil and Chile driving 25% revenue growth in South America during Q3 2025, new contract starts in EMEA contributing 32% regional revenue growth in the same period, sale of its 50% stake in Kazakh subsidiary Eastern Drilling Company LLP in May 2025, and capital expenditures of US$14.5 million year-to-date Q3 2025 primarily for new rigs and equipment to support contract mobilizations.
