Business
Fidelity Select Tech Hardware Portfolio (FDCPX) is a non-diversified mutual fund that seeks capital appreciation by investing at least 80% of its assets in common stocks and related securities of companies principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, or sale of technology hardware, including computers, peripherals, semiconductors, networking equipment, storage devices, and related components; the fund targets issuers across the technology hardware spectrum, with major holdings including Cisco Systems Inc., Sony Group Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Arista Networks Inc., and Apple Inc., representing nearly half of the portfolio. It operates within the technology sector, focusing on large-cap blend stocks primarily in the U.S. market with international exposure, such as holdings in Japan and South Korea, and serves individual and institutional investors seeking sector-specific growth. The fund, with total net assets of approximately $1.09 billion and a net expense ratio of 0.69%, was originally launched as Fidelity Select Computers Portfolio in July 1985 and is managed by Fidelity Investments, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. In a significant repositioning effective November 13, 2021, the fund transitioned from its prior focus on computers to the broader tech hardware mandate, accompanied by updates to investment policies and benchmark; more recently, on June 30, 2024, Elliot Mattingly departed as co-portfolio manager, leaving Aidan Brandt as the sole portfolio manager since April 29, 2024. The fund remains available to U.S. investors with no minimum initial investment and trades daily at net asset value.
