First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII – FT Vest U.S. Equity Max Buffer ETF – February is an actively managed, non-diversified exchange-traded fund series that seeks to provide investment returns, before fees and expenses, corresponding to the price return of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, up to a predetermined upside cap, while seeking to provide the maximum available buffer against losses in the underlying ETF over an approximately one-year Target Outcome Period. The Fund principally invests substantially all of its assets in FLexible EXchange Options, or FLEX Options, referencing the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust; its portfolio may include call options, put options, cash and other instruments used to construct a capped-upside, buffered-equity exposure. The Fund is designed for investors seeking exposure to large-capitalization U.S. equities across sectors through SPY, coupled with defined-outcome risk-management characteristics, including a cap on potential gains and a targeted downside buffer that applies only over the applicable Target Outcome Period and is subject to fees, expenses, trading price, and timing of investment. Shares trade on Cboe BZX under the ticker symbol FEBM. First Trust Advisors L.P. serves as investment adviser, and Vest Financial LLC serves as sub-adviser. The Fund is a series of First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII, a U.S.-domiciled registered management investment company. FEBM was formed in February 2025 and is headquartered administratively through the First Trust organization in Wheaton, Illinois. The Fund’s principal recent development is its February 2025 launch and Cboe BZX listing, which expanded the FT Vest defined-outcome ETF range with a February-reset U.S. equity maximum-buffer strategy. At the start of each subsequent February Target Outcome Period, the Fund resets its FLEX Options portfolio and establishes a new upside cap and buffer based on prevailing market conditions; holdings disclosures as of September 2026 indicate a concentrated derivatives-based portfolio rather than direct investment in individual operating companies.
