- Innovator IBD 50 ETF (FFTY) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance, before fees and expenses, of the IBD 50 Index, a rules-based index identifying the top 50 U.S.-listed growth stocks based on a proprietary blend of fundamental and technical indicators including earnings per share growth, sales growth, return on equity, relative price strength, and liquidity metrics; the index selects from approximately 7,000 securities traded on NYSE, Nasdaq, or NYSE American, primarily U.S. common stocks but also including American Depositary Receipts of non-U.S. companies from developed and emerging markets, with top-ranked holdings receiving higher weights (3.5% for the top 10, down to 0.5% for ranks 41-50) and incorporating a cash allocation mechanism during market downturns. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in index components in proportion to their weightings, undergoes weekly rebalancing and reconstitution leading to high portfolio turnover (1,304% for the fiscal year ended October 31, 2024), and exhibits significant sector exposure to information technology (approximately 46%), health care, industrials, and financials, with geographic diversification including the U.S. (78%), Canada, and select emerging markets. Launched on April 9, 2015, and listed on NYSE Arca, FFTY is a series of Innovator ETFs Trust, managed by Innovator Capital Management, LLC (headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois, founded in 2017 as a pioneer in defined outcome ETFs) with sub-advisory from Penserra Capital Management, LLC; as of September 2025, net assets stood at $99.10 million with a net expense ratio of 0.80% (contractually capped through August 31, 2026). In a major strategic development, Innovator Capital Management entered into a definitive agreement in December 2025 to be acquired by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. for approximately $2 billion in a cash-and-stock transaction, enhancing the firm's scale amid rapid growth in its ETF offerings including recent launches such as the Innovator Equity Autocallable Income Strategy ETF (ACEI) and Innovator Index Autocallable Income Strategy ETF (ACII) in September 2025, which provide laddered monthly income strategies tied to equity performance.
