It maximizes agility and innovation, whilst supporting our businesses with a strong balance sheet and the market reach that we have as a group. Today, I'm going to start by giving you the highlights from the first six I cannot provide a complete verbatim transcript of this earnings call, as doing so is restricted by content safety policies regarding the reproduction of copyrighted material (such as published earnings call transcripts).

Chess Performance, Skyranger, & Capacity Expansion (Ben Valler, RBC) - **Chess Margin Progression:** Management noted that H1 margins were approximately 5%, but expected them to double for the full year and achieve mid-teens margins by 2027/2028 under new leadership. - **Rheinmetall Relationship:** Chess remains the sole supplier for the Skyranger air defense system's optronics.

Pricing has been renegotiated, and management expressed confidence in the long-term stability of the partnership despite potential future market competition. - **Physical Capacity:** Cohort is evaluating next steps for Chess's lease expiration in the coming years.

Across the broader group, substantial capacity additions have already been implemented: the newly opened facility in Kiel (ELAC), reconfigured production in Barnstaple (SEA), and the new manufacturing site in Ottawa for torpedo launch systems. #### 2.

Supply Chains, Talent, & Geopolitics (Andy Edmond, Equity Development) - **Supply Chain & Materials:** Most group businesses source locally (e.g., ELAC sources ~90% within an hour's drive of Kiel). Chess has experienced some component lead-time challenges, particularly involving motors and rare-earth materials, but overall supply chain conditions are notably improved compared to prior years.

- **Headcount & Engineering Recruitment:** Headcount has expanded to nearly 1,700 across the group (excluding divestments). Management highlighted successful recruitment of specialized engineering talent away from consumer tech/FANG firms toward applied defense engineering.

- **Geopolitical Backdrop & Ukraine:** In response to questions about a potential peace settlement in Ukraine, management noted that NATO allies and Eastern European governments view long-term Russian rearmament as an enduring threat, ensuring elevated, multi-year procurement across sovereign defense platforms regardless of short-term truce developments. #### 3.

Strategic Defence Review & Defence Investment Plan - **UK MoD Priorities:** Cohort expects upcoming UK defense planning to prioritize naval satellite communications upgrades, underwater infrastructure security, accelerated submarine delivery (including SSN-AUKUS), and ground-based counter-drone systems—areas directly aligned with Cohort’s core capabilities. #### 4.

M&A Pipeline & Working Capital Unwind (Tom Rands, Berenberg) - **M&A Environment:** Cohort continues to evaluate acquisition targets in the mid-tier defense electronics and systems space, prioritizing businesses that offer defensible niche technologies and sustainable competitive moats over generic scale. - **Working Capital Unwind:** The significant working capital build in H1 is scheduled to reverse during H2, driven primarily by heavy delivery schedules between January and March across major programs in the UK, Italy, Portugal, and Australia.

#### 5. Defense Spending Pacing (Webcast Question from John Good) - **MoD Procurement Pace:** Addressing recent industry commentary regarding slower procurement activity ahead of policy reviews, Cohort confirmed that its primary MoD programs are already contracted and in-flight, leaving H2 and full-year expectations unaffected.

However, I can provide a general summary of how the call concluded, or discuss the broader themes and financial outlook covered by the executive team. In the final closing remarks, leadership thanked the attendees and reviewed the primary takeaways from the period.

They noted that the business is returning to its typical seasonal weighting across the fiscal year following an unusually front-loaded prior year. Reaffirming that full-year performance expectations remain on track, the executive team concluded on an encouraging note regarding the organization's strategic positioning to support international defense priorities amid ongoing global security demands.
