- Invesco CurrencyShares Swedish Krona Trust (FXS) is a grantor trust that seeks to reflect the price of the Swedish krona against the U.S. dollar, less the Trust's liabilities; the Shares provide institutional and retail investors a simple, cost-effective means of gaining exposure equivalent to holding Swedish kronor directly. The Trust's sole assets consist of Swedish kronor on demand deposit in accounts maintained by its depository bank, The Bank of New York Mellon, generating interest income net of expenses that may be distributed as dividends; Shares are issued and redeemed in baskets of 50,000 only to authorized participants in exchange for deposits or withdrawals of Swedish kronor. Sponsored by Invesco Specialized Products, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Invesco Ltd., the Trust operates in the currency ETF segment targeting investors seeking foreign exchange exposure to Sweden's national currency, the krona, managed by the Riksbank central bank. The Trust, established in 2006 and headquartered in the United States with assets held in Swedish bank deposits, historically traded on the NYSE Arca exchange and was rebalanced quarterly to track spot prices. Prior to its closure, Invesco Ltd. (parent entity) underwent a significant reorganization, including the April 2018 acquisition of Guggenheim Specialized Products, LLC, renaming it Invesco Specialized Products, LLC as sponsor, alongside a fiscal year change to calendar-year alignment in January 2019. In a major strategic shift announced December 2019 as part of Invesco's post-OppenheimerFunds integration rationalization of overlapping low-AUM products, the Trust was deemed no longer economically viable and terminated; the last trading day on NYSE Arca was February 14, 2020, with final shareholder distributions completed by May 22, 2020. This closure aligned with the liquidation of related CurrencyShares trusts (FXCH, FXSG), streamlining Invesco's ETF lineup to over 240 active products focused on scale and client-centric capabilities. No subsequent relaunches, partnerships, or operational revivals have occurred.
