General Finance Corporation (NASDAQ: GFNCP) is a specialty rental services company providing portable storage, modular space, and liquid containment solutions to diverse customers in commercial, construction, transportation, industrial, energy, manufacturing, mining, retail, education, and government sectors. The company offers mobile storage containers, office containers, modular buildings, ground-level offices, portable liquid storage tanks, steps, ramps, furniture, portable toilets, security systems, shelving, and related accessories; liquid containment products for well-site needs, infrastructure projects, pipeline maintenance, and refinery turnarounds; and customized modifications including temporary prison cells, hoarding units, blast-resistant modules, workforce accommodations, and storm shelters. Operations span North America through subsidiaries Pac-Van, Inc. and Lone Star Tank Rental Inc., and Asia-Pacific via Royal Wolf in Australia and New Zealand, with a lease fleet exceeding 78,000 units serving 52 major U.S. metropolitan areas and international markets. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Pasadena, California, the company maintains a fleet originally costing approximately $639 million as of early 2021. In May 2021, General Finance was acquired by United Rentals, Inc. for approximately $996 million including assumed net debt, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary that expanded United Rentals' offerings in mobile storage and modular offices while integrating approximately 900 employees and 106 branches.
