Global X FTSE Nordic Region ETF (GXF) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks investment results corresponding generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the FTSE Nordic 30 Index, which reflects the equity market performance of companies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. The ETF invests at least 80% of its total assets in the securities of the underlying index and in American Depositary Receipts and Global Depositary Receipts; it provides exposure to large- and mid-cap growth and value stocks across diversified sectors including healthcare, industrials, financials, and consumer goods, with top holdings such as Novo Nordisk A/S (15.28%), DSV A/S (5.17%), and Investor AB (4.73%). Launched on August 17, 2009, GXF is issued and managed by Global X Management Company LLC, a subsidiary of Mirae Asset Global Investments headquartered in New York, with approximately $52.6 million in assets under management targeting investors seeking international equity exposure to the Nordic region.
In October 2021, GXF underwent a significant reorganization, changing its underlying index to the MSCI Norway IMI 25/50 Index, acquiring the Global X MSCI Norway ETF (NORW), and adopting the Norway-focused strategy while retaining its original CUSIP and ISIN, enabling continued trading under the GXF ticker during the transition. Global X, the ETF's sponsor, has pursued aggressive expansion in recent years, surpassing $73.5 billion in U.S. assets under management as of October 2025 through launches such as the Global X Bitcoin Covered Call ETF and Global X AI Semiconductor & Quantum ETF in 2025; the firm also announced product updates including liquidations of underperforming funds in January and July 2025, alongside new covered call and fixed income strategies driving $8.6 billion in 2024 net inflows. These developments underscore Global X's focus on thematic growth, income, and international access ETFs amid robust growth following its 2018 acquisition by Mirae Asset.
