Huntington recently announced the acquisition of Veritex Holdings, Inc., a Dallas-based bank holding company with $13 billion in assets, $9 billion in loans, and $11 billion in deposits, expected to close in early fourth-quarter 2025, enhancing its presence in the high-growth Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston markets; in October 2025, it entered a definitive agreement to acquire Cadence Bank in a $7.4 billion all-stock deal, expanding its footprint to 21 states from the Midwest through the South and bolstering commercial and wealth management capabilities; the company also expanded its retail banking franchise into North Carolina and South Carolina in 2024, launched new commercial banking verticals such as Fund Finance, Native American Financial Services, Healthcare Asset-based Lending, and Specialized Mortgage Solutions, and grew average loans by $11 billion and deposits by $8 billion over the past year through organic initiatives.
