(NASDAQ: HIMX) is a fabless semiconductor solution provider dedicated to display imaging processing technologies for consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial applications worldwide. The company manufactures and supplies display driver integrated circuits (DDICs) and timing controllers (TCONs) for TVs, laptops, monitors, mobile phones, tablets, automotive displays, digital cameras, car navigation systems, virtual reality (VR) devices; touch controllers and in-cell touch and display driver integration (TDDI) single-chip solutions; AMOLED ICs; LED driver ICs; power management ICs; LCoS micro-displays for augmented reality (AR) devices and automotive heads-up displays (HUDs); CMOS image sensors; wafer level optics (WLO) for AR devices and camera modules; WiseEye ultralow power AI sensing processors and modules; 3D sensing solutions; liquid crystal tunable optics; large area roll-to-roll nano-microstructure films for display enhancements; and other semiconductors including operational amplifiers. Himax operates primarily through its Driver IC and Non-Driver segments, serving markets in China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the United States, Europe, and India from headquarters in Tainan, Taiwan, where it was founded in 2001, with additional offices in Hsinchu and Taipei, Taiwan, and international locations. Subsidiaries include Himax Display, Inc. for LCoS and MEMS microdisplays, Himax Imaging, Inc. for CMOS image sensors, and Himax Analogic, Inc. for power management and LED drivers. Recent developments include mass production of its third-generation automotive TDDI IC (HX83195 series) supporting up to 30-inch displays and OLED touch controller IC (HX8530 series) for up to 50-inch displays in Q3 2024, securing over 50% market share in automotive TDDI with 70 million units shipped and partnerships with Zeekr (Geely) and leading Chinese EV makers; a strategic alliance with Powerchip and Tata Electronics in 2024 to expand display IC and WiseEye AI sensing manufacturing in India under the "Make in India" initiative; ongoing collaboration with FOCI on co-packaged optics (CPO) using WLO technology for AI and high-performance computing (HPC), advancing to higher trial volumes and future generations; new WiseEye AIoT modules showcased at CES 2025 for applications like palm vein authentication and baby cry detection; and expansions in OLED DDICs, TCONs, and touch controllers for tablets, notebooks, and smartphones with Korean and Chinese panel makers entering mass production in 2025.
