Business
Jiangxi Institute of Biological Products Inc. is a China-based biopharmaceutical company primarily engaged in the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of equine-derived antiserum products, polyclonal antibody biological preparations, veterinary pharmaceuticals, and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Founded in 1969 as the Jiangxi Branch of the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products and headquartered in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province, China, the company operates a vertically integrated industrial structure known as the Three Bases and Two Centers system, supported by eight wholly owned subsidiaries. Its integrated platform encompasses large-scale equine breeding and hyperimmune plasma collection, research and development, biopharmaceutical formulation, and global distribution. The company organizes its business into three main product categories: Human Biopharmaceuticals and Antitoxins, Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, and Chemical and Biological Byproducts. Its Human Biopharmaceuticals portfolio is anchored by Human Tetanus Antitoxin (Human TAT) injection, serving as China's and one of the world's largest suppliers and exporters by sales volume, alongside equine-derived polyclonal antibodies and antitoxin therapeutic preparations. The Veterinary Pharmaceuticals line comprises Veterinary Tetanus Antitoxin, Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin (PMSG / Serum Gonadotropin for injection), and animal reproductive health therapeutics. The Chemical and Biological Byproducts segment provides Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), topical antiseptic solutions such as povidone-iodine formulations, and refined equine biological derivatives including cosmetic-grade horse oil. Geographically, the company distributes its biopharmaceutical and animal health products across domestic Chinese healthcare institutions and veterinary networks, while exporting antitoxin products to emerging overseas markets across Asia and Africa. In recent corporate developments, Jiangxi Institute of Biological Products Inc. completed its initial public offering and listed its Class H shares on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong under the stock code 6915 on June 30, 2026. The listing supported the continued strategic expansion and commercialization of the company's proprietary AEPC Platform, an end-to-end equine-derived polyclonal antibody industrial chain. In July 2026, the company officially commenced commercial operations of a dedicated production line for Veterinary Tetanus Antitoxin, accelerating its strategic diversification into the commercial veterinary pharmaceuticals sector. Furthermore, the company has expanded its raw material infrastructure through upgrades to its large-scale equine breeding and immune plasma collection base in Zhangye, Gansu Province, enhancing upstream supply security and production efficiency across its biopharmaceutical manufacturing network.
