Vinacomin - Power Holding Corporation (HNX: DTK) is a Vietnam-based independent power producer and utility enterprise primarily engaged in the generation, transmission, and wholesale distribution of electrical energy, as well as the provision of specialized engineering, technical maintenance, and auxiliary industrial services. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, the company operates as the power generation flagship subsidiary of state-owned Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin / TKV). The corporation organizes its product and service offerings across multiple core business segments: thermal power generation through mine-mouth and regional coal-fired thermal power plants, including the Cam Pha 1 and 2, Mao Khe, Son Dong, Cao Ngan, and Na Duong I generating stations; hydroelectric power generation through clean energy installations including the Dong Nai 5 hydropower plant; comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services, including turbine inspections, boiler rehabilitation, generator rewinding, transformer servicing, and predictive diagnostic testing; engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and installation services for power generation and industrial electrical substations; fabrication, procurement, and distribution of specialized power equipment, electrical spare parts, and instrumentation; and the processing, recycling, and commercial distribution of power plant byproducts, including fly ash, bottom ash, and gypsum for industrial and construction materials manufacturing. The company delivers baseload electricity to the national grid under long-term power purchase agreements with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and serves major industrial and mining facilities across northern and central Vietnam. In recent operational developments, Vinacomin Power Holding Corporation has accelerated the construction and equipment installation of the 110 MW Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant in Lang Son Province, representing a capital investment of approximately VND 4.1 trillion, to strengthen energy security across northeastern Vietnam. Additionally, the company has initiated decarbonization and efficiency upgrades across its operating thermal fleet in alignment with Vietnam's National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8), exploring biomass co-firing and low-emission fuel blending technologies, modernizing flue gas treatment systems, and undertaking corporate governance and capital structure adjustments to satisfy revised public company regulatory requirements on the Hanoi Stock Exchange while sustaining multi-billion kWh annual generation outputs and consistent shareholder cash distributions.
