- VICEM Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company is a Vietnamese industrial company that manufactures and distributes cement, clinker, and building materials for civil, commercial, and infrastructure applications. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An Province, Vietnam, the company operates as a key subsidiary of the state-owned Vietnam National Cement Corporation (VICEM). The company operates an integrated cement manufacturing facility utilizing dry-process rotary kiln technology with a production capacity of 4,500 tons of clinker per day and an annual cement grinding capacity of approximately 1.4 million tons.
The company organizes its business activities into manufacturing, mining, civil construction, and logistics operations. Its core product and service offerings comprise: Portland blended cements (PCB30 and PCB40) engineered for general civil engineering, residential housing, and public infrastructure; Ordinary Portland cements (PC40 and PC50) formulated for high-load industrial structures, bridges, and hydropower facilities; specialized export-grade cements, including ASTM C150 Type I Portland cement, ASTM C595 Type IP blended hydraulic cement, and European standard EN 197-1 CEM II/B-M 32.5N MaxPro cement; high-grade commercial clinker conforming to TCVN 7024:2002 standards; raw construction materials, including limestone, clay, sand, gravel, unslaked lime, and gypsum; civil engineering and construction contracting for residential, non-residential, transport, and irrigation infrastructure; open-pit mineral exploitation and quarrying services; and integrated logistics solutions, including road freight, inland waterway transit, coastal shipping, and industrial equipment maintenance. The company markets its products under the Con Chim Lac (Lac Bird) trademark across Northern and Central Vietnam while exporting clinker and packaged cement to regional international markets.
In recent strategic and operational developments, VICEM Hoang Mai Cement has accelerated its circular economy initiatives by integrating waste-to-energy technologies into its production lines. The company deployed an industrial alternative fuel co-processing system in its rotary kilns to utilize industrial solid waste, sludge, and biomass, achieving a thermal substitution rate above 30 percent to lower production costs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Additionally, the company advanced the construction of an on-site waste heat recovery (WHR) power generation plant, representing an investment of over VND 281 billion to generate captive electricity and cut external grid electricity consumption by an estimated 25 percent. Operationally, the company completed technical modifications to expand its kiln clinker production output from 4,000 to 4,500 tons per day, while strategically advancing maritime and grinding infrastructure plans, including a dedicated general-purpose port terminal and the Dong Hoi Industrial Zone cement grinding station project to strengthen domestic distribution and maritime export logistics.
