Business
Honeywell International Inc. is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based multinational industrial and technology company that develops and supplies aerospace, automation, building technology, process technology and industrial software solutions to commercial, industrial, government and defense customers worldwide. Founded in 1885, the company operates through Aerospace Technologies, Building Automation, Industrial Automation, and Process Automation and Technology business segments; its Aerospace Technologies business was separated into an independent publicly traded company, Honeywell Aerospace, in June 2026, with shares trading on Nasdaq under the symbol HONA. Honeywell International, which continues to trade on Nasdaq under HON, concentrates on automation, process technologies and building solutions. Honeywell’s principal products and services include building-management systems; fire, life-safety, security, access-control and video-surveillance systems; commercial and residential thermostats, sensors, controllers, actuators, indoor-air-quality products and connected building software; process-control systems, distributed-control systems, safety systems, industrial cybersecurity, supervisory control and data acquisition solutions, remote operations software, field instrumentation and asset-performance-management applications; industrial sensing, barcode scanning, mobile computing, printing, labeling, voice-directed workflow and supply-chain solutions; gas detection, personal protective equipment, electrical safety and productivity solutions; process licensing, catalysts, adsorbents, membranes, purification systems and connected services for refining, petrochemicals, liquefied natural gas, renewable fuels, hydrogen, carbon capture and other energy and chemical-processing applications; and industrial pumps, compressors, seals, controls and aftermarket services. The company markets solutions under brands including Honeywell, UOP, Experion, Forge, Intelligrated, Notifier, Gent, Trend, Security, BW, RAE Systems, Searchline, Satron and Sundyne, serving building owners, contractors, manufacturers, energy producers, chemical processors, utilities, logistics operators, retailers, healthcare providers and public-sector customers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Recent strategic actions include the October 2025 spin-off of its Advanced Materials business as independent public company Solstice Advanced Materials, resulting in the former unit being presented as discontinued operations; the 2026 realignment of Honeywell’s operating structure into Building Automation, Industrial Automation, and Process Automation and Technology, alongside Aerospace Technologies prior to its June 2026 separation; the July 2026 acquisition of Johnson Matthey’s Catalyst Technologies business for £1.325 billion, expanding Honeywell’s catalyst and process-technology portfolio; the 2025 acquisition of Sundyne, a manufacturer of industrial pumps and compressors, for $2.2 billion; and the 2026 divestitures of the Warehouse and Workflow Solutions business to American Industrial Partners and the Productivity Solutions and Services business to Brady Corporation. These portfolio actions advance Honeywell’s strategy to become a more focused automation, process-technology and intelligent-building solutions provider.
