Business
Mien Dong Joint Stock Company is a Vietnam-based enterprise primarily engaged in civil and industrial engineering, construction materials manufacturing and quarrying, real estate and infrastructure development, and power generation. Established in 1986 as the Tri An Hydropower Construction Company and equitized into a joint stock company in 2006, the company is headquartered in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, and trades on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MDG. The company operates across four primary business segments: Construction and Engineering, Construction Materials and Mining, Real Estate and Infrastructure, and Energy Investment. In its Construction and Engineering segment, the company provides general contracting, installation, and engineering services for civil, commercial, and industrial facilities; construction of hydropower plants, water supply and drainage systems, and irrigation networks; development of transport infrastructure; and erection of power transmission lines and transformer substations. In its Construction Materials and Mining segment, the company engages in the quarrying, processing, and distribution of construction stone aggregates, including crushed stone, base rock, and stone dust; manufacturing and supply of clay bricks, paving tiles, and precast concrete components; and trading of steel, cement, and associated structural building materials. In its Real Estate and Infrastructure segment, Mien Dong JSC invests in, develops, and manages industrial zones, urban residential developments, apartment complexes, and commercial properties. In its Energy segment, the company invests in and operates clean energy facilities, including hydropower plants and renewable energy assets such as wind power projects. In recent developments, the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange removed MDG shares from warning status in March 2026 following sustained improvements in audited operational performance and positive accumulated undistributed profits. Over the recent period, the company has also undertaken strategic portfolio and regulatory adjustments, including restructuring its mineral extraction pipeline and revising mining licensing initiatives—such as the Tan My quarry in Binh Duong Province—to align with new regulatory requirements under Vietnam's Law on Geology and Minerals. Furthermore, the company has convened extraordinary and annual shareholder meetings to update corporate governance policies, rationalize capital allocation, and advance execution across its core construction, materials supply, and renewable energy infrastructure assets.
