PT Optima Prima Metal Sinergi Tbk (OPMS.JK) is an Indonesia-based scrap metal trading company engaged primarily in the processing and sale of iron, steel, and stainless-steel scrap materials. The company buys used non-operating vehicles, particularly ships, dismantles and cuts them into scrap, and sells processed and unprocessed scrap iron to customers in the automotive spare parts and building steel industries; it also markets valuable used spare parts separately and conducts ship cutting operations with high safety standards. OPMS operates through two main segments, Processed Scrap Iron and Unprocessed Scrap Iron, managing over 20,000 tons of scrap metal annually, including copper, brass, and cast iron. Founded on September 5, 2012, as PT Asian Prima Indosteel and headquartered at Jl. Margomulyo Permai Blok AC No. 10, Surabaya, East Java, the company conducts all its activities within Indonesia and is a subsidiary of PT Asian Perkasa Indosteel. In late 2025, OPMS announced a major strategic diversification into the fast-moving consumer goods sector, specifically food and beverage, ahead of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on December 1, 2025, marking a significant shift from its core scrap metal business. This move, supported by a feasibility study, propelled its share price upward by over 11% in November 2025 amid rumors of incoming strategic investors. The company continues to prioritize recycling efforts and waste reduction while renewing its growth strategy as outlined in its 2024 Annual Report.
