Coherent Corp. completed its acquisition of Coherent, Inc. in July 2022, adopting the Coherent name and ticker COHR in September 2022 to form a leader in materials, networking, and lasers with over 26,000 employees; recently announced in August 2025 an agreement to sell its aerospace and defense business to Advent for $400 million to reduce debt and focus on core photonics growth; launched the Axon FP femtosecond laser and EDGE CUT20 OEM cutting solution with CUT20 laser head in November 2025; introduced quad-channel ICs for 800G/1.6T and 400G ZR/ZR+ transceivers in September 2025 with production ramping through year-end; secured initial customer orders for its optical circuit switch platform ahead of 2025 commercialization; and pursues CHIPS Act funding for 150mm indium phosphide expansion.
