Innovator International Developed Power Buffer ETF - March (IMAR) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the price return of the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA), which provides exposure to developed markets outside the United States and Canada, up to a predetermined cap while buffering investors against the first 15% of losses over a one-year outcome period before fees and expenses. The ETF employs a defined outcome strategy using FLEX options on EFA, including purchased call and put options and sold put and call options, with holdings concentrated in such options (approximately 98.70% in primary EFA call options) supplemented by deposits with brokers for short positions and cash equivalents; it rebalances annually, offers an expense ratio of 0.85%, and is listed on NYSE Arca. Launched on March 1, 2024, as part of Innovator's March Series, IMAR targets investors seeking risk-managed international equity exposure through cost-effective, liquid, transparent, and tax-efficient vehicles without credit risk from issuers. IMAR operates within the defined outcome ETF segment, part of Innovator Capital Management, LLC's broader suite of over 150 ETFs focused on buffer, income, growth, and protection strategies across U.S. and international equities; the firm serves financial advisors, institutions, and retail investors prioritizing downside protection and predictable outcomes. Geographically, it provides indirect access to non-U.S. developed markets via EFA's MSCI EAFE Index, encompassing Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. Innovator Capital Management, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois, pioneered Defined Outcome ETFs in 2018 and manages approximately $28-30 billion in assets under management as of late 2025. In a major strategic development, Goldman Sachs agreed in December 2025 to acquire Innovator Capital Management for $2 billion, a transaction expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, enhancing Goldman Sachs Asset Management's ETF offerings in the rapidly growing defined outcome category. This follows Innovator's expansion of its product lineup, including the November 2025 launch of additional Dual Directional ETFs building on its buffer strategies, amid net inflows and asset growth for funds like IMAR, which reached net assets of $54.25 million as of June 30, 2025. No other significant acquisitions, partnerships, or reorganizations specific to IMAR were reported in the past 1-2 years beyond these firm-wide advancements.
