Business
Invictus Energy Limited (ASX:IVZ; OTCQB:IVCTF) is an independent upstream oil and gas company focused on the exploration, appraisal and development of conventional gas-condensate and associated oil resources in the Cabora Bassa Basin, one of Africa's largest and last untested frontier rift basins located in northern Zimbabwe. The company holds an 80% operated interest in the 360,000-hectare Cabora Bassa project across exploration license SG 4571 and Exclusive Prospecting Orders 1848 and 1849, encompassing key assets such as the Mukuyu Gas Field where Mukuyu-1 and Mukuyu-2 wells have confirmed a working petroleum system with multiple high-quality gas-condensate discoveries in the Upper and Lower Angwa Formations, net pay of 35 meters, and prospective resources estimated at up to 20 trillion cubic feet of gas and 845 million barrels of condensate; it pursues seismic acquisition and interpretation including over 1,400 kilometers of 2D seismic data across programs such as CB21 and CB23, drilling of wildcat and appraisal wells targeting structures like Musuma-1, and commercialization pathways including gas-to-power pilot projects, offtake arrangements and field appraisal activities to supply southern Africa's expanding energy market. Invictus Energy was incorporated in 2011 and is headquartered at 10 Outram Street, West Perth, Australia. In recent developments, the company secured a transformational strategic partnership in August 2025 with Al Mansour Holdings, a Qatar royal family-backed investor, under which Al Mansour acquired a 19.9% equity stake for A$37.8 million and committed up to US$500 million in conditional financing to advance the Cabora Bassa project through appraisal, flow-testing, 3D seismic acquisition and commercial production, while establishing the Al Mansour Oil & Gas joint venture for upstream acquisitions and development across key African countries; additional milestones include National Project Status from the Zimbabwe government, progression of the Petroleum Production Sharing Agreement with the Republic of Zimbabwe, strategic investment from the Mutapa Investment Fund, updated gas-to-power offtake MOUs with Mbuyu/Tatanga Energy and Eureka Gold Mine, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment approval for pilot production activities.
