- Janus Henderson Global Sustainable Equity Fund Class T (JETTX) is an actively managed mutual fund that seeks capital growth over the long term by investing primarily in equity securities of companies contributing to positive environmental or social change through alignment with nine sustainability themes, including resource efficiency, clean technology, reduced impact industries, healthy and essential products, empowered living, next generation consumption, enabling infrastructure, education and productivity, and responsible finance. The fund invests at least 70% of its assets in shares of companies worldwide, of any market capitalization and industry, where at least 50% of revenues derive from products or services tied to these themes; up to 30% may be allocated to complementary assets such as companies enhancing quality of life, those with prospective sustainable revenues, collective investment schemes, or cash, while employing derivatives for risk reduction or efficiency and adhering to strict exclusions for fossil fuels, tobacco, weapons, alcohol, and other harmful sectors. It maintains a high-conviction portfolio of 50-70 securities, benchmarked against the MSCI World Index, with top holdings including Microsoft Corp., NVIDIA Corp., Spotify Technology SA, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. ADR.
Janus Henderson Investors, the fund's manager formed in 2017 from the merger of Janus Capital Group (founded 1969 in Denver) and Henderson Global Investors (roots in 1934 in London), operates this strategy from its dual headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and London, United Kingdom, with over 25 offices globally serving institutional and individual investors.
The strategy, with a track record spanning over 30 years in sustainable investing, is led by Hamish Chamberlayne since January 2014 and co-manager Aaron Scully since 2019, supported by recent team enhancements including analyst Suney Hindocha in late 2023 and senior investment manager Tal Lomnitzer in Q1 2024 following a natural resources team restructuring.
Recent developments include the fund's adoption of the Sustainability Focus™ label and prospectus disclosure updates effective April 15, 2025, alongside broader firm initiatives such as the acquisition of Victory Park Capital, a global private credit manager, announced in August 2024 and expected to close in Q4 2024 to bolster private markets capabilities, and a strategic partnership with NBK Wealth in May 2024 to expand emerging markets private capital offerings.
