John Hancock Exchange-Traded Fund Trust - John Hancock Core Bond ETF is an actively managed, exchange-traded fixed-income fund that seeks a high level of current income consistent with preservation of capital and maintenance of liquidity. Listed on NYSE Arca under the ticker JHCR, the fund invests principally in investment-grade U.S. fixed-income securities, maintaining at least 80% of net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, in securities rated investment grade and targeting an average portfolio credit quality of A- or higher. Its portfolio may include corporate bonds; debentures and notes; convertible and hybrid securities; U.S. Treasury, agency and government-sponsored-enterprise obligations; mortgage-backed securities; asset-backed securities; to-be-announced mortgage contracts; and variable- and floating-rate instruments. The fund may use exchange-listed futures and other derivatives for hedging, risk management and efficient portfolio management, but does not employ leverage, invest in bank loans, purchase below-investment-grade securities, or purchase foreign securities and foreign-currency-denominated instruments. Its duration and average maturity are generally managed to remain substantially similar to those of the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, while investment selection emphasizes sector allocation, industry allocation and bottom-up security research. The fund issues and redeems shares at net asset value in creation units through authorized participants; individual investors buy and sell shares in secondary-market transactions through broker-dealers and other financial intermediaries. John Hancock Investment Management LLC serves as investment adviser and Manulife Investment Management (US) LLC serves as subadviser; the portfolio is managed by the U.S. Core and Core-Plus Fixed Income team, including Jeffrey N. Given, Spencer Godfrey, Howard C. Greene, Connor Minnaar and Pranay Sonalkar. The fund is part of the John Hancock ETF platform, which operates under John Hancock Investment Management, a Manulife Wealth and Asset Management business and an affiliate of Manulife Financial Corporation. John Hancock Core Bond ETF commenced operations on December 18, 2024, and is domiciled in the United States, with the trust and investment-management operations headquartered at 200 Berkeley Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The fund’s principal recent strategic development was its December 2024 launch alongside the John Hancock Core Plus Bond ETF, expanding John Hancock Investment Management’s actively managed fixed-income ETF lineup. In its August 2026 prospectus update, the fund reported a 0.34% total annual operating-expense ratio, reduced to 0.29% through a contractual expense reimbursement arrangement currently scheduled to remain in effect through July 31, 2027.
