Business
KPI Green Energy Limited is an India-based renewable energy company primarily engaged in the development, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of solar and hybrid power plants. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, the company operates under the brand name Solarism. KPI Green Energy functions as both an independent power producer (IPP) and a service provider to captive power producers (CPP), delivering comprehensive renewable power solutions including solar energy generation, hybrid power projects (combining solar and wind), solar EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) services, land sales for solar projects, and operation and maintenance (O&M) services. The company supplies electricity through bilateral power purchase agreements (PPAs) and sells industrial plots for the establishment of renewable energy facilities. Its solar plants are primarily located in Gujarat, with extensive transmission infrastructure supporting power evacuation. Recent major changes include securing a significant ₹489 crore EPC contract to develop a 142 MW DC (110 MW AC) floating solar photovoltaic project in Gujarat, marking an expansion into advanced floating solar technology. The project involves design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and a 10-year O&M contract, showcasing KPI Green Energy’s strengthened capabilities in large-scale, innovative renewable projects. The company has also received charging approval for a 40.96 MW solar and wind-solar hybrid power project under the CPP segment and secured new orders aggregating 100 MW in the captive power sector. Additionally, KPI Green Energy established a landmark strategic partnership with South Korean company AHES Co. Ltd. and Indian firm GH2 Solar Ltd. to develop a green ammonia production facility with 100,000 metric tons per annum capacity, signaling diversification into green hydrogen-related energy solutions and an expanded renewable energy business scope. KPI Green Energy operates over 50 solar power plants in Gujarat's Bharuch district and has developed 66 kV and 11 kV transmission lines for effective grid connectivity. The company is listed on NSE and BSE, with a reaffirmed ICRA rating, and continues to leverage technological advances and financial backing, including a ₹3,200 crore sanction from the State Bank of India for solar and hybrid IPP projects aggregating over 1 GWp capacity in Gujarat. It is part of the KP Group, with a team of renewable energy experts driving its focus on reliable, affordable, and clean energy transition in India. KPI Green Energy Limited’s offerings include solar power generation (IPP and CPP segments); hybrid renewable energy solutions; complete solar power EPC services; land development and leasing for renewable projects; and advisory services for renewable energy project execution and compliance. The company targets industrial and commercial customers in India, primarily serving the Gujarat region while advancing capabilities to deploy cutting-edge renewable technologies. Overall, the company stands as a comprehensive renewable energy developer and service provider, expanding through new project wins, strategic partnerships, and technology integration to lead in India’s solar and hybrid power markets.
