Business
Okong Corporation is a South Korea-based chemical manufacturing company primarily engaged in the development, production, and distribution of adhesives, sealants, adhesive tapes, and specialty chemical products for industrial, construction, and consumer DIY applications. Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Incheon, South Korea, the company is widely recognized for its flagship OKONG BOND brand and operates across four core business segments: Adhesives, Sealants and Construction Chemicals, Tapes and Packaging Materials, and Industrial Safety and Consumer Maintenance Products. The company offers a comprehensive product portfolio comprising water-based polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) emulsion adhesives for woodworking, paper manufacturing, and interior flooring; hot-melt adhesives utilizing ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), polyolefin, and polyurethane formulations for packaging, bookbinding, and automotive assembly; cyanoacrylate instant super glues and synthetic rubber contact adhesives for high-strength bonding; neutral, acetic, and structural silicone sealants; acrylic sealants; expanding polyurethane (PU) foams for thermal insulation and joint filling; mortar additives, tile adhesives, and flame-retardant binders; pressure-sensitive industrial tapes, including oriented polypropylene (OPP) packaging tapes, double-sided tapes, masking tapes, cloth duct tapes, aluminum foil tapes, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) electrical tapes; stretch wrapping films and surface protection films; automotive rubbing compounds, surface polishing waxes, and chemical adhesive removers; and industrial particulate respirators, fine-dust protective face masks, and work gloves. Okong Corporation serves an extensive clientele across the construction, furniture, automotive, electronics, packaging, and retail consumer sectors. The company operates manufacturing facilities and research and development laboratories in Incheon and Chungju, South Korea, distributing products across a nationwide domestic network while exporting to international markets including China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Greece. The corporate group structure includes key operating subsidiaries such as Okong TS Co., Ltd., which manages nationwide logistics and personal protective equipment distribution, and Samseong Tape Co., Ltd., which specializes in adhesive tape manufacturing. In recent corporate developments, Okong Corporation reorganized its senior governance in March 2025 by instituting a joint Chief Executive Officer leadership structure with the appointment of Co-CEO Jung-Hwa Kim alongside Yoon-Jung Kim to enhance operational efficiency and strategic business expansion. To support long-term production scaling and logistics optimization, the company acquired industrial facility land in Chungju in July 2024 to expand manufacturing operations. Furthermore, the company has accelerated its strategic transition toward high-value-added green chemistry by expanding its line of certified eco-friendly, low-volatile organic compound (low-VOC) waterborne adhesives and bio-based binding agents holding Korea Eco-Label and environmental Clover certifications.
