Business
HANCHANG INDUSTRY Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based specialty chemical and functional materials manufacturer primarily engaged in the development, production, and commercialization of anti-corrosion pigments, specialty absorbents, molecular sieves, and advanced energy materials. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, with an additional corporate office in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the company supplies foundational chemical solutions to heavy industries including marine shipbuilding, protective coatings, commercial climate control, industrial gas separation, and stationary energy storage. The company categorizes its operations through several core product divisions: Anti-Corrosion Pigments, comprising high-purity zinc dust and zinc phosphate compounds utilized as active anti-rust raw materials in protective paints and primers for marine vessels, shipping containers, steel bridges, and offshore industrial structures; Absorbents, including aqueous lithium bromide solutions engineered as eco-friendly, non-toxic working fluids for central absorption chillers, industrial heaters, and large-scale heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; Adsorbents and Molecular Sieves, featuring synthetic zeolite adsorbents, such as lithium-substituted low-silica X zeolites, tailored for high-selectivity nitrogen and oxygen separation in pressure swing adsorption and vacuum pressure swing adsorption industrial oxygen generation systems; and Specialty Energy Materials, including proprietary electrolyte solutions for zinc-bromine and vanadium redox flow batteries utilized in utility-scale energy storage systems, cathode components for solid oxide fuel cells, manganese oxide, industrial catalysts, and specialized glass beads. In recent operational and strategic developments, Hanchang Industry has expanded its international footprint by accelerating export shipments of its specialized lithium molecular sieve zeolites to industrial gas and steelmaking infrastructure projects across Asia, notably in India and Vietnam. The company continues to advance the formulation and commercial supply of high-purity electrolyte chemistries tailored for next-generation zinc-bromine redox flow battery systems to capture growth in long-duration energy storage. In corporate governance and sustainability milestones, the company earned an EcoVadis Silver Medal in 2024 for its environmental, social, and governance management practices alongside its ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified operations. Additionally, in August 2026, Hanchang Industry executed a KRW 1.5 billion treasury share repurchase trust agreement aimed at enhancing shareholder value and facilitating structured employee compensation programs.
