Business
Pixelplus Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based fabless semiconductor design company that specializes in the development and marketing of CMOS image sensors (CIS), image signal processors (ISP), and video processing System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, the company designs and supplies integrated imaging semiconductors primarily for automotive electronics, security surveillance, medical devices, and industrial vision applications. Pixelplus organizes its principal product and service portfolio into: Automotive Imaging Solutions, encompassing high-dynamic-range (HDR) CMOS image sensors, integrated camera SoCs, and video processors engineered for surround view monitoring (SVM), around view monitoring (AVM), rear-view camera (RVC) systems, camera monitor systems (CMS), driver monitoring systems (DMS), occupant monitoring systems (OMS), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS); Security and Surveillance Solutions, including high-definition image sensors, standalone and companion ISP chipsets, and video processors for closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, IP security cameras, and commercial surveillance infrastructure; Medical and Industrial Imaging Devices, comprising ultra-compact, low-power sub-millimeter CMOS image sensors and vision ICs for medical endoscopes, laparoscopes, dental instruments, and precision industrial inspection equipment; and Transmission and Interface ICs, featuring analog high-definition video transmission chips, receiver ICs, and bridge processors for long-distance, low-latency video signal transfer. The company distributes its products to automotive Tier-1 suppliers, camera module manufacturers, security equipment OEMs, and medical device integrators across South Korea, China, Japan, the wider Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and North America. In recent developments, Pixelplus has accelerated its strategic focus on automotive safety and in-cabin sensing technologies, commercializing next-generation AEC-Q100-qualified automotive image sensors and automotive-grade ISPs featuring integrated LED flicker mitigation (LFM) and enhanced HDR capabilities compliant with ISO 26262 ASIL-B functional safety standards. The company has also expanded its product lineup with specialized near-infrared (NIR) enhanced sensors and AI-assisted vision processing solutions targeted at regulatory-driven driver monitoring systems (DMS) and occupant sensing platforms, securing strategic supply agreements with global automotive module suppliers while advancing ultra-miniature image sensor commercialization for single-use medical endoscopy applications.
