Business
Kec Corporation Kec Corporation (092220.KS) manufactures and sells non-memory power semiconductors for automotive, industrial, consumer, wired, and wireless applications in South Korea, China, Japan, and the United States. The company produces fast recovery and bridge rectifiers; protection, Schottky barrier, switching, zener, and silicon carbide Schottky barrier diodes; bipolar transistors including complex, Darlington, digital, general purpose bipolar, and array types; insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) solutions; high- and low-voltage MOSFETs and S-MOSFETs; comparators and operational amplifiers; and power management ICs such as AC/DC converter ICs, CMOS reset ICs, gate drivers, linear regulators, voltage detectors, PWM controllers, and DC switcher ICs. Founded in 1969 and headquartered at 5 Mabang-ro 10-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea, Kec Corporation operates through 12 local branches and expanding overseas distribution networks, serving major domestic automobile and appliance manufacturers while pursuing R&D for technological localization and competitiveness as the only midsize Korean firm with in-house production facilities. In recent strategic developments, Kec Corporation implements Vision 2025 with growth-oriented management, achieving design-wins and mass production approvals from prominent domestic and international automakers, industrial equipment, and home appliance makers for IGBTs, super-junction MOSFETs, and other power discrete products to capture electronic and industrial semiconductor markets. The company supplies IGBT and small-signal discrete products to global electric vehicle manufacturers, bolstering its automotive portfolio amid EV market expansion, and invests in new facilities like 20 billion won at its Gumi Plant for production stability and capacity growth. Kec Corporation strengthens global reach through partnerships with major distributors including Arrow Electronics for China market penetration, hires regional experts, and launches innovations such as Gate Driver ICs with Bootstrap Diode and low-voltage MOSFET series for DC/DC converters, synchronous rectifiers, and load switches in applications like LCD/OLED T-Con boards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth devices.
