Business
NovMetaPharma Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based biopharmaceutical and biotechnology company primarily engaged in the research, development, and commercialization of therapeutic treatments for metabolic, chronic, and degenerative diseases. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates across the biopharmaceutical, functional food, and veterinary healthcare sectors. The company develops proprietary pharmaceutical candidates based on endogenous metabolic regulatory substances and peptide technologies. Its primary clinical pipeline and product portfolio include Nov-DB (NV-201), a therapeutic candidate designed for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus by improving insulin sensitivity and blood glucose regulation; Nov-OB (NV-202), an anti-obesity and metabolic syndrome treatment candidate; Nov-ND (NV-203), a therapeutic targeted at diabetic nephropathy and chronic kidney disease; Nov-AD (NV-204), a developmental drug candidate for Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative disorders; Nov-PD, a pre-clinical therapeutic candidate for Parkinson's disease; functional dietary supplements and health foods formulated with proprietary bioactive metabolic modulators to support glucose and weight management; dermocosmetic and skincare formulations; and veterinary health products for companion animals. NovMetaPharma has implemented several strategic initiatives and operational adjustments to expand its commercial footprint and advance its clinical pipeline. The company has progressed United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Phase 2 clinical trials for its flagship diabetes and diabetic nephropathy candidates while expanding its global intellectual property portfolio across North America, Europe, and East Asia. To enhance revenue generation alongside its long-term pharmaceutical research, the company has expanded its commercial operations into functional health foods, consumer healthcare products, and pet care formulations. Furthermore, NovMetaPharma has entered into strategic research partnerships and supply agreements with domestic and international partners, while restructuring its capital and corporate development strategy to support clinical milestone execution and pursue listing relocation initiatives on the Korea Exchange.
