Business
Warba Bank K.S.C.P. is a Kuwait-based Islamic financial institution that provides a comprehensive range of Sharia-compliant retail, corporate, and investment banking, as well as treasury and wealth management services. The Bank operates primarily in the State of Kuwait and extends its investment and financing activities across the Middle East and international markets. The Bank organizes its operations through four principal business segments: Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, and Treasury. The Retail Banking segment provides consumer financial products and services, including Sharia-compliant savings accounts, current accounts, salary accounts, and term deposits such as the Al Sunbula and Hassad accounts; personal consumer financing, auto Murabaha financing, and residential real estate financing; Islamic credit, debit, and prepaid cards; youth and student banking accounts under the Bloom brand; digital banking services through its mobile application; and private banking and concierge services for high-net-worth individuals. The Corporate Banking segment offers financing and credit facilities to small, medium, and large enterprises, government entities, and multinational corporations, including working capital financing, project financing, equipment leasing, and syndicated loans structured under Murabaha, Ijara, Istisna'a, and Musharaka contracts; Islamic trade finance solutions comprising letters of credit and letters of guarantee; and corporate cash management and payroll processing services. The Investment Banking and Asset Management segment engages in Sharia-compliant capital market activities, including Sukuk structuring, underwriting, and placement; private equity investments and fund management; direct international real estate investments; and discretionary portfolio management and corporate advisory services. The Treasury segment manages the Bank's liquidity and funding requirements, offering foreign exchange trading, interbank money market placements, Sharia-compliant hedging instruments, and asset-liability management. In recent developments, Warba Bank has advanced its strategic capital management and regional financing footprint through the issuance of benchmark Tier 1 and Tier 2 Sukuk to strengthen its capital adequacy ratios and fund asset expansion. The Bank has significantly accelerated its digital transformation agenda by forming strategic partnerships with global payment networks and financial technology providers to enhance its cloud infrastructure, open banking capabilities, and biometric payment security. It has also introduced automated instant financing solutions, advanced digital onboarding, and expanded app-based investment features for retail and corporate clients. Furthermore, the Bank has integrated a formal Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework into its core credit assessment and risk management processes, introducing sustainable finance products and expanding its portfolio of green and socially responsible investments. Warba Bank K.S.C.P. was established in 2010 by Emiri decree and is headquartered in Kuwait City, State of Kuwait.
