Established in 1976 and headquartered in Kuwait City, Kuwait, the company operates across the State of Kuwait and extends its reinsurance operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company conducts its underwriting activities through four principal business segments: Marine and Aviation, Fire and General Accident, Motor, and Life and Medical Insurance. The company provides an extensive range of conventional insurance solutions and tailored risk management services; its Marine and Aviation segment offers marine cargo insurance for sea, air, and land transit; marine hull and machinery coverage; marine liability insurance; freight forwarding liability; and aviation hull, equipment, and third-party liability policies; its Fire and General Accident division provides property all-risks insurance; fire and allied perils; business interruption and consequential loss coverage; contractor and erection all-risks; machinery breakdown; electronic equipment insurance; banker's blanket bonds; fidelity guarantee; money in safe and transit; public and product liability; professional indemnity; directors and officers liability; and workmen's compensation; its Motor segment provides comprehensive motor vehicle insurance; mandatory third-party liability coverage; roadside assistance packages; personal accident benefits for drivers and passengers; and replacement vehicle solutions; its Life and Medical segment delivers individual and group term life insurance; credit life coverage for borrowers; group and individual medical insurance schemes; critical illness protection; personal accident covers; and international health plans. In addition, the company provides inward and outward facultative and treaty reinsurance capacities across regional and international insurance markets. In recent developments, the company completed a major strategic reorganization and corporate rebranding, officially changing its commercial name from Warba Insurance Company K.S.C.P. to Warba Insurance and Reinsurance Company K.S.C.P. to reflect its expanded mandate and strategic penetration into regional reinsurance markets. The company has advanced its comprehensive digital transformation program, deploying an upgraded mobile application, a direct-to-consumer digital portal for automated quotation and instant policy issuance, and a modernized digital claims processing system. Strategically, the company has expanded its retail and commercial footprint through new bancassurance agreements and distribution partnerships with financial institutions, fintech operators, and healthcare management networks across Kuwait. Furthermore, the company continues to optimize its underwriting portfolio and capital management, maintaining robust financial strength ratings from international credit rating agencies while scaling its facultative reinsurance treaty participations across regional markets.
