Business
Kalyani Steels Limited, a flagship of the Kalyani Group, manufactures forging and engineering quality carbon and alloy steels using the blast furnace route; its core products include rolled bars for automotive applications such as crankshafts, camshafts, connecting rods, gears, transmission shafts, axle beams and steering knuckles used in commercial vehicles, passenger cars and construction equipment, rolled bars for engineering applications, round cast products for the seamless tube industry including boiler grade and creep resistant grades like SA213-T11 and SA213-T22, machined bars with low electrical resistivity for the primary aluminium smelting industry, as cast blooms and rounds, pig iron and foundry coke. The company, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Pune, India, with manufacturing facilities in Hospet, Karnataka boasting a hot metal capacity of 650,000 tonnes per annum supported by three mini blast furnaces, two rolling mills, a sinter plant and captive power, primarily serves the domestic forging industry along with component manufacturers for commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, diesel engines, bearings, tractors, wind turbines, railways, oil and gas, energy and seamless pipe sectors across automotive, bearing, engineering and energy end-markets. In recent developments, Kalyani Steels won the auction for Kamineni Steel and Power India assets in January 2024 for Rs 450 crore to bolster its steel production capabilities, signed a February 2024 memorandum of understanding with the Odisha government for an Rs 11,750 crore industrial complex to produce titanium metal, aerospace components, advanced specialty steel and automotive components, re-appointed R.K. Goyal as managing director in August 2025, and reported consolidated net profit growth to Rs 802 million for the March 2025 quarter amid improving profitability and net debt reduction.
